January Update

Our computer is broken yet again so I am at MiMa & PopPop's using theirs. A lot has happened this past month. I had to go back to work and leave my little buddy after being home with him for the past 4 months :( It was without a doubt the best 4 months of my life & I can't believe how fast the time went. MiMa was amazing and decided to leave her job of 12 years & take care of Jack full time. Scott & I both know how hard it was for her to leave & we are SO appreciative. As hard as it is to leave him every morning, it is such a comfort to know that he is with his MiMa & not in a daycare with strangers.

This week Jack went for his 4 month checkup! I knew he had to get shots again so I was relieved when Scott found out he was having a snow day and could join us. Scott put it best when he said that I cried more than Jack did. Jack took the shots like a champ, only cried for a minute or so and was sleeping before we even left the doctor's office. We were happy to hear he is healthy & growing by the second. We were shocked to hear however, that his head is not abnormally large. I'm convinced that the nurse didn't measure correctly because his head is HUGE.

We also started Jack on cereal. He wasn't quite sure what to make of his high chair when we first put him in it but he couldn't have been too uncomfortable because he fell asleep after his 1st bite.

For my first week of work, Sharon, Scott's coworkers wife also watched Jack. This was a huge help to us & he had so much fun playing with her four children. I think he may even have a crush on Mary!

Jack is teething so he spends 90% of the day with his fist in his mouth. He has been a little fussy but not terrible. We are hoping that it does not get too painful for him & his first tooth comes in quickly.

Here are some random cute ones....

(I love this picture because he is sleeping on Stephanie and immediately put his hand right on her pregnant belly, which made us both wonder if he knew there was a little friend growing in there!)

I learned how to upload videos :) :)

I am so excited that I know how to upload videos now (Thank you Auntie Krissy). Here is a video of Jack using his new "shriekies" voice that I love. He does it all day long. He looooves the sound of his own voice and I still laugh everytime he does it :)

This is how much Jack "likes" tummy time

Jack no longer needs mommy or daddy to feed him, he would much rather feed himself...

SPELL CHECK

As I'm sitting here reading my last entry I am noticing how many words I spelled wrong lol. Clearly going to kindergarten twice did nothing for me. Maybe three times would have been a charm.

ONE YEAR AGO....

One year ago today, we found out I was pregnant. It seems like it was only yesterday and I remember the night perfectly. I left work right at 5 and drove straight to Walgreens which was right down the road from our old apartment in Tarrytown. I looked everywhere for the pregnancy tests and couldn't find them, then realized they were locked up in some glass case & I had to ask someone to help me. That annoyed me because I was way too anxious to have some stranger hovering over me while I decided which test to buy. So I left and drove to CVS lol. Scott had called & wanted to go to the movies with me. I told him no & he went by himself as usual. I can't remember the movie but I know he will be able to tell me later when I ask him. I wanted to take the test & then be all creative and tell him in a special way if it was positive. I had all these ideas running through my head about filling the apartment with pink and blue balloons or buying him special books on being a daddy. But first I had to take the test. I remember sitting in the kitchen thinking about how in only a few minutes my whole life would possibly change forever. Once I mentally prepared myself (and really had to pee) I headed for the bathroom. It's a good thing I bought two tests because my first test did not work. I sat there waiting, staring, at the stupid little stick and nothing happened. So I took out the 2nd test and started drinking up as much water as I could. Since my bladder is the size of a pea, it didn't take long and I took the second test. I remember watching as the 1st pink line appeared and I closed my eyes before the 2nd one popped up. What freaked me out was that Scott called me at the exact moment that I opened my eyes and saw the 2nd line. He called to tell me he was on his way home & I didn't say a word to him about what I was holding in my hand. All those ideas I had about telling him in a special way went right out the window when he walked in the door. I was sitting on the couch smiling and before he even shut the door he asked if I was pregnant.

I can't believe it has been a year since that night & Jack is sitting here with me, already almost 4 months old. It was the best night & Scott & I couldn't be happier to have our little man in our lives.

Here's the test that changed everything that night....

As gross as it may be to some people, I will never ever throw it out :)

So So Proud!

We are sooooo proud of Jack! He was so good during the baptism & didn't cry once!!! At least not until it was over & he realized how hungry he was. Auntie Krissy & Uncle Jonny did such a good job as his godparents & we are so thankful for them!!!! Afterwards, everyone headed back to our house for some delicious food (thanks to Maryann, Daria & MiMa) & everyone was polite enough not to complain about how crowded it was! (Thank you!!) I of course didn't have a clue where my camera was for the party so I will have to steal some pictures from Auntie Krissy to blog.
