January Update

Our computer is broken yet again so I am at MiMa & PopPop's using theirs. A lot has happened this past month. I had to go back to work and leave my little buddy after being home with him for the past 4 months :( It was without a doubt the best 4 months of my life & I can't believe how fast the time went. MiMa was amazing and decided to leave her job of 12 years & take care of Jack full time. Scott & I both know how hard it was for her to leave & we are SO appreciative. As hard as it is to leave him every morning, it is such a comfort to know that he is with his MiMa & not in a daycare with strangers.

This week Jack went for his 4 month checkup! I knew he had to get shots again so I was relieved when Scott found out he was having a snow day and could join us. Scott put it best when he said that I cried more than Jack did. Jack took the shots like a champ, only cried for a minute or so and was sleeping before we even left the doctor's office. We were happy to hear he is healthy & growing by the second. We were shocked to hear however, that his head is not abnormally large. I'm convinced that the nurse didn't measure correctly because his head is HUGE.

We also started Jack on cereal. He wasn't quite sure what to make of his high chair when we first put him in it but he couldn't have been too uncomfortable because he fell asleep after his 1st bite.

For my first week of work, Sharon, Scott's coworkers wife also watched Jack. This was a huge help to us & he had so much fun playing with her four children. I think he may even have a crush on Mary!

Jack is teething so he spends 90% of the day with his fist in his mouth. He has been a little fussy but not terrible. We are hoping that it does not get too painful for him & his first tooth comes in quickly.

Here are some random cute ones....

(I love this picture because he is sleeping on Stephanie and immediately put his hand right on her pregnant belly, which made us both wonder if he knew there was a little friend growing in there!)

I am so glad that Jack is doing so well!! I can't believe how different he looks even from just a month ago. I'm glad it puts your mind at ease that Mima is watching Jack... she will do an amazing job with him, just like she did with you!!!!

And I can't believe he's eating solids now!!!!

Miss you guys so much!

Only one full week into my 'new' job and I am more than 100% certain that I made the right decision to leave my job to watch Jack! Thank you Mommy & Daddy for letting me take care of him. Next to raising our own 4 children, this is the most rewarding feeling in the world! And yes, Kell, I know that you will laugh, but, 'my cup runneth over'!
