SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!

This past week has been so great, not only was I off for the last 5 days but the weather has been beautiful! I wanted to make the most of my time off & do as many special things with my little man as possible.

The beginning of the week was still a little wet & chilly so we did what cousin Liam loves the most - we headed to the merry go round at the mall. The last time we went, I think we were the only ones on it, this time around, it was packed. Jack & I chose not to ride one of the horses and we sat comfortably on one of fluffy seats. Jack loved it & I loved watching him try & follow everything as we circled.

Thursday, Jack had a play date with our friend Christina's daughter Maddy. She was born September 3, just a few weeks before Jack. Christina & I took them to the aquarium. It was colder than we expected but we still had a great time. Maddy was terrified of the little fish but absolutely loved the sharks and walrus! I think Jack terrified her as well. Everytime a fish would swim by, he roared like a lion at them. I think he was trying to impress her with his fearless ways! After the aquarium, we took the babies out onto the beach for some pictures. It was sooo windy out and we couldn't get them to look at the camera at the same time. My vision of cute beach baby pictures did not exactly happen as planned but there is always next time.

Friday was perfect outside, so Jack & I went on a picnic. I took him to the place our friends Matt & Kim got married. It's right by the water with a view of the bridge & a perfect spot to throw a blanket down and relax. Jack had fun "crawling" around, played with his ball & tried to catch every bubble I blew for him! \

Saturday was the hottest day we have had this year & we were outside watching Daddy's team play against Pearl River!! I basically bathed Jack in sunscreen and kept him in his little tent the whole time & he was such a good boy. I was worried with the heat that he would get fussy but he didn't complain once! After the game - which they won of course - Jack completely passed out in the car so I went to visit Auntie Maryann until he woke up. Once we got there, we found out her niece Alexandra was coming over so Jack would have another play date!! We had plans for them to play in one of those cheapo little plastic pools but the water was way tooo cold for Jack so we just hung out on the lawn and had just as much fun.

And finally, today was just a crazy day! We had planned on spending it outside at MiMa's in Jack's giant pool that we had bought a few weeks ago. Of course, it didn't happen as planned. We got a late start heading over there, then discovered it was much harder than we thought to blow up this 108 gallon pool lol. After about an hour, the pool was finally blown up and I went to go turn the hose on to fill it. That's when we realized the water must have been shut off for the winter since we couldn't get a single drop out! Since Scott & I never really have a clue what we are doing, we had no idea which valve turned the water on in my parent's house. This took literally 2 hours of searching different closets and staring at lots of pipes with giant question marks over our heads. Thankfully, our friend Joe came to the rescue and he figured it out after probably a half hour lol. As the pool filled, we quickly realized Jack would probably freeze if he stepped foot in that water, so we then resorted to dumping pots of hot water into it. Scott must have made 100 trips up and down my parents long deck stairs with full pots. He was determined to get Jack into that pool, even if it was for only a few minutes. And that is what it was - we finally got it warmed up and Jack splashed his feet around for a few minutes, went down the slide & then wanted out! More than 3 hours of work to get the pool ready for only a few minutes of Jack being in it! It was totally worth it! Joe & Megan also came with Tellie - their little puggle & Jack loved him. He couldn't get enough of her kissing his hands and was always looking to see what she was up to! After all the stress of the stupid pool, we ended up having a great day!

Unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow, but I'm already counting down the days till Wednesday when I'll be off again with my Binky Man!
