Since it has been so long since my last post, this one will just be pictures of what Jack has been up to this past month. Enjoy!! ( Ignore any spelling errors etc. I am way too tired to spell check/proofread this one!)
Jack's 1st Pep Rally/1st time seeing fireworks!! He clapped and laughed the whole time! It was so fun to watch!
Mommy torturing Jack for a quick game of dress up.....
Auntie Kristin came to visit from Las Vegas & She and Jack got to spend lots of time together & it was so good to see her! Jack loooooved waking up to her every morning and we were so sad to see her leave :( We also spent one Sunday at Grandpa & Grandma's in Pennsylvania with all of the Saunders cousins!
Fun at the park with Mommy...
Fun on the homefront :)
THEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!!!
Jack's New "Cheeeeese Face"
Aunt Jackie came to visit all the way from Oregon and met Jack for the 1st time! Out of habit, Aunt Jackie kept referring to herself as "Nana" so by the end of the week, Jack was always looking for "Nana Jackie". He absolutely adored her!
And then there was Halloween! Jack was the cutest little garden gnome I have ever seen. The reason I chose this costume. Back in high school, my friend Jasmine & I may or may not have "borrowed" a garden gnome from someone's front steps during a late night scavenger hunt. Jasmine has never gotten rid of the gnome, which was named Peemie. It has been in the entryway to every single apartment she has lived in since college to greet people! So of course, the second I saw that costume online, I HAD TO HAVE IT!
THANKSGIVING! We spent Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania at Grandma & Grandpa's house & had a great day! It was very quiet and relaxing which was just what we needed. Susan cooked an amazing dinner & we ate till we couldn't breathe anymore! Jack was off schedule from not sleeping great the night before and not napping in the morning so he slept through dinner but stuffed his face as soon as he woke up! It's always hard when there is not enough time to celebrate with everyone, but it does not make us any less thankful for our family & friends who do so much for us!
And last but not least, somewhere in the mix of all of this, our poor peanut got sick... very sick :( To make a long story short, once we got him to the doctor, his fever had gone up to 104.5. The doctor told us she thought it was the flu, combined with something going on in his ears so she prescribed him tamiflu & something for his ears. The most memorable part of this experience was definitely Jack's "big boy" puke! The whole reflux phase where he vommed 24/7 on anything and everything was cake next to this. Scott somehow managed to stay dry the whole time... I was not so fortunate. "Big Boy" puke is a whole new world for us & we def. had to learn how to not breathe for long periods of time :) ! After some restless nights and 5 days straight of snuggles & nick jr., he seemed to get better. Scott actually noted the permanent dent in the couch from my butt after all our sick snuggle sessions!
Sick Bed snuggles with Pooh!
Finally getting a tiny bit of his appetite back
Thankfully it was just the flu and the medicine worked quickly. Scott & I recently attended the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital fundraiser, which is held every year. It is usually an auction/wine tasting event. Throughout the night, videos are played telling the miracle stories of the children who stay/have stayed at the hospital and it is absolutely incredible. This is our second time going. I remember how emotional it was the first time, however, this year, after having Jack it was a totally different experience. Scott and I couldn't stop talking about how difficult it was to watch Jack with the flu & not really be able to do anything for him. But then to hear the stories of the families from the fundraiser, the flu is nothing & it was just a HUGE reminder to never ever take a single thing for granted. We are so blessed to have a healthy baby and could not wait to get home and sqeeze our little man!!
