HAPPY & HEALTHY :)

Jack had his 2 year well visit with the pediatrician today. Everything went great. He was pretty nervous once we walked into the room, most likely remembering his last trip to the doctor, when they shoved the huge q-tips down his throat to check for strep. But the doctor was so good, keeping him laughing the whole time he checked him out. He weighed in at 27.3 lbs and 35 1/4" long!! (Still a little peanut, but just 3/4" away from meeting the height requirement for most rides :) Woo Hoo!!!) He also got his final hepatitis shot and didn't even cry! Once the nurse finished the shot he put his hands up and said "all done." It was hysterical!

BIRTHDAY FUN!

The morning of Jack's birthday, we woke him up at 6am so that Scott could see him before he left for work. Normally, he is not a happy camper when he is woken up before he is ready, but that is not the case when you walk in with a stack of presents in your hands!! He was genuinely excited to open every card and gift. For each one he would yell "Woooooow!" and laugh every time!

The night of Jack's birthday, Scott & I had a wedding. It killed me that I couldn't be the one to tuck Jack in on his birthday :( Thankfully, we have amazing friends, Matt & Kim, who took care of Jack & spoiled him rotten so we had nothing to worry about while we were gone! Jack had a blast playing with their daughter Caleigh & Kim even baked him a giant cupcake cake and sang to him! It was a huge comfort to know that he was in such good hands and we can't thank them enough! Here is his special cake from Auntie Kim...

Jack is OBSESSED with Shrek! He could watch it 24/7 and never ever get sick of it, so we knew that had to be his birthday party theme. None of the stores sold anything Shrek related since it is not a new movie so it was quite the challenge finding ideas to decorate the house for him! But in the end, after lots of searching & help from MiMa & Pop Pop, we threw together a great party!

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY JACK!!

It is after midnight now so it is officially our "baby boy's" SECOND birthday!!! It is unbelievably scary how fast this year has gone and how much he has grown in these past 12 months! He has transformed into this little man who has the sweetest heart and is always looking to smother you in kisses. He can be extremely loud and impatient at times but always knows exactly what he wants. He can sense that we are approaching the mall from any direction and will scream at the top of his lungs "A MALL" to let you know. He is slowly but surely becoming more confident in using his words and loves to point things out! He refuses to leave any room without taking every single toy with him and hates to wear shoes & socks! All of these little things make for the most incredible little boy who brings such joy to Scott & I!
